Director of Video
We're Food52, a groundbreaking and award-winning kitchen and home brand. We support, connect and celebrate our community of cooks and home enthusiasts, giving them everything they need to eat thoughtfully and live joyfully.
We have created a new senior role to lead the video vision and strategy for our award-winning publishing, including all aspects of our business: editorial, shop, advertising, events, and partnerships. This position will oversee all types of video storytelling and formats including social video, live, gifs, long-form, Snapchat, Instagram, and whatever is next.
Working with our creative director, this person will bring Food52 to life in video by understanding story, and our voice and aesthetic. In addition, this role will be managing production schedules and budgets, developing systems and processes, tackling the analytics beast, creating a distribution strategy, and acting as liaison with all departments involved in video idea generation and execution. Don't worry, you won't be doing it alone. The director will be hiring a diverse and talented team with full time and freelance positions.
Candidates must have lived aspects of this job in previous roles, most importantly as a video producer for minimum 3-5 years.
You'll succeed in this role if you are a creative, fast-moving, nimble problem-solver and strategic thinker. You also must be a truly excellent communicator as you manage priorities and resources across multiple departments. You must live and die by budgets and deadlines. Equally important is being able to calmly deal with changes, curve balls, and problems.
The best candidates will have a strong base of knowledge from which to draw but be driven to innovate, test, and help Food52 leapfrog the current video milieu.
